Multi use Furniture

I don’t know if this just my need to be unique or if this is going to be a style of furniture that may actually be used in people’s homes.   If they can somehow make them comfortable, I would buy these in a second.

Image if  you could change the use of your furniture for the need of your company.   It can been a couch during parties or a coffee table when you are not need as much seating room.

As with my earlier posts, I am really into unique furniture right now.

Unique Furniture is in

Now, this set up takes unique furniture to a completely new level.   I like everything about this, it has definite usability to it but I will promise you that none of your friends will have anything close to it.   You will be the trend setter and that is not easy these days.

I am glad that people are coming out with these different designs now for our everyday furniture.   It will spice up a room and like you see, make it almost a piece of art.   So break from the mold that everyone else in the world seems to be suck in right now and buy unique!

Have a little fun with your furniture

Dr. Seuss Furniture

I feel sometimes that people are crazy enough with their furniture.   They don’t want to be judged and because of that they stick to pretty simplistic furniture.   I just found these “Dr. Suess” style shelves and have fallen in love with them.   If I was a kid and my parents bought these for me, I would feel like the coolest kid on the block.

Let’s be honest, I still won’t mind having this furniture in my house without kids.   Just have a room that is just a little often, sort of a Willy Wonka room.   Why do we feel that everything needs to be straight and symmetrical?   We need to start having more designs that break the mold.

Unique Furniture

Either these that the most comfortable beanbags I have ever seen in my life or these 4 kids where quite content when this lands slide happened.  Now if you don’t want to have these pillows in whatever playroom that you have for your kids, then… well…  you should.

I don’t know if it is the inner child in me but I would love to have these when I was younger.  Heck, I probably would love them now.   They are called “Living Stones” and don’t be surprised if they don’t become pretty big in the next few years.

Removing the Tv from the centerpiece of the room

I know our society obsessed with the media and TV, I am tired of it being the centerpiece in every living room that I walk into.   I remember when living rooms were for hosting people and/or around an instrument for random performance for family members.

Now, with the thin TVs and the wall mounts, we can return to those glory days.   You can still have your entertainment system set up but now it takes a quarter of the space and does not have to centrally located.

IKEA – Just inexpensive furniture or is it hurting furniture style.

Now, I am one of the masses of people who can get lost in IKEA for hours looking at the different furniture combos that they have put together.  They have definitely put together a winning marketing strategy with how they have the store set up in a huge one way path throughout the entire store.

I just have one concern about the beast we call, IKEA.  When everyone goes to their store and buys their inexpensive and easy to build furniture, is this going to hurt the diversity that other stores offer.   It’s the whole Walmart debate but with just taking furniture.  Will the giant superstore of furniture limit selection in the future?

Futon or Couch???

If you are trying to feel a space with either a futon or a couch, I vote for the two in one version known as the futon.   They are great, it’s a bed and a couch, it is easy to change the look of them with a cover and they are easy to move. Now, there are many different grades or types of futon mattresses. Basic futon mattresses are just foam. More sophisticated futon mattresses have varying layers of foam and padding. Some very high quality futons have coils in the core that are surrounded by foam and sometimes some padding too.

StandardA Standard Futon Mattress is 6″ thick, 100% cotton and is perfect for “A” frame futon or futon beds. This mattress folds well and is great to pull out when the guests are over.

BasicThe Basic Futon Mattress is also 6″ thick with not only a cotton core, but foam as well. It contains an extra large (3-3/8″) layer of 1.2 density foam. This mattress is ideal for inexpensive bi-fold futons.

DeluxeThe Deluxe Futon Mattress is 7″ thick with a cotton and double foam core. It has two 2-1/2″ convoluted layers of 1.2 density foam (filled with premium cotton batting) and provides unmatched plushness and softness not found in single foam core futons. This mattress is a great premium bi-fold step up.

MaxThe Max Futon Mattress is 8″ thick, the largest thickness you can find on a futon mattress. It has a cotton and double foam core with not one, but two jumbo 4-1/4″ convoluted layers of 1.2 density foam, which is filled with premium cotton batting. This futon is designed for those who are interested in the confirmation and cushioning of a mostly foam futon. The Max futon mattress is lighter and more resilient than most cotton futons.

Sweet dreamsThe Sweet Dreams Futon Mattress is 8″ of thick DuPont Hollofil polyester wrap/triple foam core. It has three layers of 2-1/2″ convoluted 1.2 density foam (filled with DuPont Hollofil polyester). The DuPont Hollofil polyester is more buoyant, resilient and longer lasting than regular polyester. This combination creates the most luxurious sitting and plush sleeping surface in the futon industry. The Sweet Dreams Futon Mattress is best suited for bi-folds and platform bed use. Royal MattressAnd lastly, the Royal Futon Mattress, which is the king of all futon mattresses. The Royal mattress has heat-tempered pocketed coils and retains its original shape and performance over a lifetime of use. The coils used in this mattress start in a ferocious furnace at a blazing 600 degrees, which helps the coils develop near-permanent tension and resiliency. This mattress also contains two layers of convoluted foam and long fiber-staple cotton for a nice, comfortable sleep.

When deciding which kind to buy, you need to take budget into consideration, but also remember to decide how long you would like the mattress to last, and don’t forget, you spend almost one third of your life sleeping or in bed, so it’s always great to try out which kinds of mattresses are most comfortable to you. http://www.thefutonsite.com/

Getting my new furniture for half the cost

Well, it’s that time of year again, time for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, the two busiest days of my life. One day I spent cooking and eating the greatest food on Earth, then I have a midday nap and I get ready to stand out in the cold so that I can get amazing shopping deals.  This year I am caring less about gifts for others and more about getting myself some new furniture.

I have figure out a way to even get more off on my Black Friday sales.  My master plan this year is to get gift certificates that at a discount on sites like citydeals or others and then use them for payment on my items.  This is what I call a double bonus, a genius move on my part!  I will keep my fingers crossed that after Black Friday, I will have some good new pieces of furniture.
